There are a few areas that a lot of want-to-be super affiliates need to work on in terms of ensuring they’re using all the prime real estate they own for affiliate promotions. That’s the thank you page and the download page. Any transactional page that your buyer will see is prime real estate for affiliate promotions.
Why You Should Use Transactional Pages to Make More Money
Your “Thank You” pages and download pages are going to be seen most by someone who has already determined that they like you and trust you. You’ve passed the all-important “know-like-trust” factor.
They are announcing they trust you because they are buying or downloading. Now you have this page they have to see because it’s a transactional page they need to see to finish their purchase or download. It would be nuts not to use this page to help you make even more money and of course, add value to your customers’ lives.
How to Use Transactional Pages to Make More Money
There are numerous ideas for the download and thank you page (sometimes it’s the same page) that can help you make more money and serve your audience even better. Since selling to existing customers is likely to succeed faster and with less cost than selling to a stranger, this is a no-brainer.
You may want to try different ideas. If you have your own products, include a coupon for a future purchase if your product is a consumable or you have many more products – this can encourage repeat buying. Add a share button so that they can share with friends their purchase which may encourage their friends to buy. Link to upsells and cross-sell opportunities. For example, do you have a workbook to go along with the first purchase? Perhaps you have an idea for a physical purchase to go with the digital purchase. Nothing wrong with cross-selling crayons and gel pens to go with your Adult Coloring books.
If you are exclusively marketing affiliate products, you have fewer opportunities but make sure you take advantage of those. As part of your list-building efforts, you should have a thank you and/or a download page. You can promote affiliate products related to your freebie on that page.
Test, Tweak, and Try Again
The trick with adding options to the thank you or download page is not to add too many choices. One additional choice outside of their transaction is enough at a time. You may want to try different ideas and even A/B test some ideas. This can ensure that you choose the best idea that helps you make more money, spread more awareness, or adds more value to your customers.
Using transactional website pages to provide more value, upsell or cross-sell, and to spread awareness is going to boost your productivity exponentially. You’ll bring in more money with very simple additions on all your transactional pages on your site if you give it a little thought and think outside the box.
