Make Affiliate Recommendations Via Audio and Video

Go Multi-Media With Audio and Video

When you’re an affiliate marketer, one of the things you learn rather fast is that not everyone responds the same way to the same content formats. Some people love reading blog posts, other people prefer video or even audio. If you really want to boost your sales, you can activate the segment of your audience that prefers video or audio to start being more engaged by giving them the type of content that they want.

Types of Video to Make

  • Review Video – No matter what type of product you are promoting, you can do a review on it and using video for the review will make it even better. People will trust you more if they can see your face and eyes when you describe the benefits of the product.
  • Behind-the-scenes Video – Let people get to know you better and spread brand awareness with a behind-the-scenes look at your day or how you come up with ideas. Your audience will enjoy learning more, and those who don’t know you yet will learn to trust you more.
  • Case Study Video – Do you know people who have had success using the products you recommend? If you do, ask them to do a case study video with you. Design questions to ask them about how the product solved their problems and whether they recommend it for others too.

Where to Publish Videos

  • Your Website / Blog – Always embed your video on your blog because that is where all your content should be housed for the most part with very few exceptions. The main reason is that you want people to come to your site, so you can get more traffic so that people can answer your CTAs after enjoying your useful and valuable content.
  • Social Media – Whether you place the entire video, a link to the video, or a clip of the video on social media depends on your goal. However, you can place your video everyplace that it can go including LinkedIn, Instagram, Pinterest, and others.
  • YouTube.com – Currently one of the best places to host your videos is YouTube, mainly because Google owns it and it helps improve your ranking to add video there. It’s also super easy to embed your video on your blog using YouTube. Plus, your videos can become another stream of income once you have enough subscribers to set up ads on your account.

Keep in mind you can do the same thing with audio only. Consider using a system to turn all your blog posts into audio versions so that people can listen on the go. Turn your videos that don’t require images into a podcast and publish on iTunes and share everywhere. The more types of content you publish, and the more places you share your content, the more eyes and ears you’ll get on it.
